Holidays In Daytona Beach
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! You’re sure to hear those lyrics as well as those of many Christmas songs in the Daytona Beach area during November and December. Celebrating the holidays in Daytona Beach is magical and it’s easy to get in the spirit. Even without the snow, you’ll find plenty of fun holiday activities and shopping to help you spread the yuletide cheer. You might even get to meet the big guy from the North Pole!
There’s always a ton to do in Daytona, but this is most true during the holidays. From Christmas lights decorating the city to holiday shows, it’s a (warm) winter wonderland. One of the biggest events is “Light Up Volusia” is a free event where the highlight is the lighting of the 50 foot holiday tree and the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus. If you have children, no event will get them more excited for Christmas morning than this.
Another great event is the “Christmas Boat Parade” sponsored by the Halifax River Yacht Club. Every year, hundreds of boats deck their decks with Christmas lights and decorations and “parade” down the Halifax River. If you’ve never been, this is quite the site to see.
Shopping For Presents
One of the biggest parts of the holidays is the exchanging of gifts. Remember when your parents told you “it’s better to give than receive”? Well, if you’re going to give, you have to find something to give! There’s no better place than at the Volusia Mall. Not only are there over 125 stores to get your shop on, but the entire mall is expertly decorated with a holiday theme. Bring your kids and they will be able to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their wishes. You’ll even be able to take home a professional photo of this special moment.
The holidays in Daytona Beach are special, so make the most of this time by enjoying some of these great activities.
